Here we come with a new review about the latest released movie SHIVAAY!

The story was a typical Bollywood drama style, a love story that ends with a separation, a bonding in between father and daughter and the action to save the little kid from the Russian gang. Beautiful locations and few moments hold the eyes, but overall SHIVAAY fails to justice its content.

Ajay did his directorial debut with this movie and as it was his first attempt he needs to improve a lot. Slow storyline is the biggest drawback of the movie. First half of the movie works as a doze for the nap and second half tries to cover that fall. Overall, it doesn’t touch that mark which was created by the trailers.

Shivaay Movie Review

Let’s start with the detailed review!

Storyline

Story begins with the mind-blowing locations of Himalayas where a popular mountaineer – SHIVAAY (Ajay Devgan) attracts with its jump, run and trekking on mountains. Story moves with its next assignment where he played a guide role to guide a group of trekkers. He met with a Bulgarian girl named Olga (Erika Kaar) and fell in love with her. In this trekking session, SHIVAAY saved Olga’s life from a sudden avalanche, but due to this sudden act Olga met with a fracture.

As Olga and SHIVAAY both were in love and they lived together, Olga got pregnant. But her priorities were totally different, so SHIVAAY and Olga had an argument about the life of the unborn baby. That’s obviously against the choice of Olga, so after giving birth to the child she left INDIA even without seeing the face of her baby. SHIVAAY accepted all the responsibilities and did his best to bring up his little daughter – Gaura (Abigail Eames).

One Day, Gaura came to know all the truth and she forced SHIVAAY to get her mother back. SHIVAAY took her to Bulgaria and started finding out her mother Olga with the help of Embassy officers (Saurabh Shukla) and Anushka (Sayyeshaa Saigal). There, due to his humanity, he saved a life of small boy who was a victim of child trafficking racket. But the gang kidnapped Shivaay’s daughter and then SHIVAAY shows his violent shade to destroy the gang. How he saved his daughter and many other victim children, is the base.

Acting

Ajay Devgan and Bulgarian actresses Erika Kaar and Abigail Eames completely justice to their character, but the new actress Sayyeshaa Saigal was emotionless and needs a lot to improve. Supporting cast – Vir Das and Saurabh Shukla entertain the audience. And Russian cast supports the story to flow.

Story/Direction/Editing

Nothing is new, neither the concept nor the characterization. Everything is predictable, but few moments and locations were impressive. Direction and Editing have a lot of scope to improve. Because of several loop holes, story makes the audience bore and worked as a nap doze.

Music

The concept of the story isn’t needed the music, but the background score works well and few songs were melodious.

Shivaay Review

Credits

Direction & Produced by Ajay Devgan, written by Sandeep Srivastava & Robin Bhatt, Story by Ajay Devgan, Music by Mithoon, Cinematography by Aseem Bajaj and Edited by Dharmendra Sharma.

With a great hype and amazing trailers, SHIVAAY succeeded to create a sensation in the audience about the story, but fails to justice with their concept. According to my own experience, it was an average movie and rated under 2.5 stars.
